This 36 page, A4 wiro-bound resource which intends to enable children in rural areas to develop and improve their road safety skills by delivering road safety messages within curriculum areas such as Maths, English, Geography, PSHE and ICT. This resource has been developed with support from the Department for Transport
The resource has been developed as current road safety resources are often weighted towards urban road safety issues. Children who live, or come from, rural communities need additional skills to cope with the rural environment. This resource highlights several key rural road safety issues especially for children in key stages 1 and 2. Additional background notes and useful links are also included to assist in the planning and delivery of the lessons.
